Alyssa is a talented vocal instructor at School of Rock Easton, Maryland, where she began teaching in 2022. Starting with vocal instruction, she has expanded her teaching portfolio to include keyboard and piano, and now directs Rock 101 and assists with show direction. As an accomplished performer with significant stage experience, Alyssa brings a performance-oriented approach to her instruction. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Lycoming College, where she was a four-time Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship nominee, demonstrating her strong theatrical background and commitment to performance excellence. Her stellar vocal performance credentials include winning Best Solo Vocal Performance in the 2009 Freddy Awards as a senior at Wilson Area High School. Alyssa is a versatile musician who currently performs with the bossa nova quartet Rio Bossa and tours as a vocal sub for Start Making Sense: A Talking Heads Tribute, bringing her live performance experience into her teaching. She also serves as a vocal coach for Lafayette College's Latin Ensemble, further demonstrating her expertise and reach as an instructor. At School of Rock, Alyssa teaches students of all levels to integrate key music fundamentals including breathing, posture, and proper technique into a curriculum based on performing with a band, helping students develop both technical skills and performance confidence.
