Allison (Allie) Baughman is an experienced vocal instructor and performing artist based in the Frederick and Hagerstown, Maryland area. She holds a Certificate of Vocal Performance from Musicians Institute, demonstrating her commitment to professional vocal training and instruction. As a multi-instrumentalist, Allison teaches voice as her primary instrument while also offering instruction in piano and ukulele, giving her students a well-rounded musical foundation. Allison is an active performing artist who performs in a local acoustic duo called Allie and Luna, specializing in rock, grunge, soul, and pop styles of music. Her real-world performance experience directly informs her teaching approach, allowing her to share practical insights about performance techniques, microphone work, and stage presence with her students. Her teaching philosophy centers on providing students with the tools and confidence needed to expand their musical knowledge and skills beyond the lesson room and into achieving their real-life musical goals. In the classroom, Allison focuses on comprehensive vocal instruction covering technique, ear training, songwriting, artistry, and performance skills including microphone technique. She teaches at the Sloan School of Music in both Frederick (Urbana) and Hagerstown, serving students of all ages and skill levels who are interested in developing contemporary vocal skills in rock, pop, and related genres.
