Allen Thompson is a versatile vocal instructor and pianist with over a decade of diverse musical experience. He earned both his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he participated in classical performing ensembles including chamber singers, university chorale, and opera workshop. Thompson is a well-rounded teacher and musician who works with all styles of singing, providing logical coaching and supportive encouragement. He demonstrates exceptional skill in working with both nervous beginners and experienced performers seeking advancement. Thompson brings extensive experience as a performer, director, music director, pit accompanist, and vocal coach. Notable roles include Hedwig and Adam in theatrical productions, and he served as music director for The Last Five Years, a pop/rock styled theatrical work. He has been teaching at Cardon Studios since Summer 2019, offering instruction in voice (Classical, Broadway, Jazz, Pop/Rock) and piano (Beginner through Intermediate levels). Students praise his high energy and calming focus, combined with his ability to dismantle complex or abstract ideas into digestible tidbits with intent and clarity of focus.
