Alison Trainer

About

Dr. Alison Trainer is an internationally acclaimed coloratura soprano and gifted singing actress who joined Boston University as an Assistant Professor of Voice in fall 2023. She brings a distinguished international performance career, having debuted numerous signature roles in Europe including Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, Fiakermilli in Arabella, Gilda in Rigoletto, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro. In addition to teaching at Boston University, Alison serves as an instructor at Interlochen Center for the Arts' high school voice and opera program. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Bachelor of Music from Indiana University, Master of Music from Cincinnati Conservatory, Performer's Certificate from the Opera Institute at Boston University, Doctor of Musical Arts from Stony Brook University
