Alice Beckstrom

Alice Beckstrom is a private voice teacher and vocal coach in Midland, Texas who has taught voice privately for over 35 years. A native southern Californian, she moved with her family to Houston in 1997 and became a member of the Houston Symphony Chorus from 1997-2013, serving as Soprano 1 Section Leader. During this time, she recorded CDs and toured to England, Wales, Vienna, Prague and Budapest, and was chosen as part of a select 20-voice chorus to perform "The Planets – an HD Experience" on tour, including at Carnegie Hall. In 2013, Alice moved to Midland where she continues her vocal work and sings Soprano 1 with the Chamber Chorale of the West Texas Symphony. She specializes in teaching Vocal Performance, blending techniques from classical Bel Canto with musical theater performance. Alice has a dual love for Classical Music and Musical Theater, having been featured in productions of Brigadoon, Kiss Me Kate, Fiddler on the Roof and My Fair Lady. In 2015, she founded and became the Choral Director of the Midland-Odessa Community Chorus. Her students have been recognized with top UIL honors, key roles in school and professional plays and concerts, scholarships and acceptance into music programs in universities.
