Dr. Aidan Soder is Associate Professor of Voice at the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance. A mezzo soprano well-regarded as a pedagogue and technician, she has performed extensively across the United States and internationally with major orchestras including Alabama, Omaha, and Houston symphonies, plus Glimmerglass Opera. She has also performed in Austria, Bulgaria, India, and England. Dr. Soder's scholarly interests focus on contemporary music performance practices, 20th-century French mélodie, and works by living American composers, particularly Arnold Schoenberg's Pierrot lunaire. She previously taught at Michigan's Interlochen Arts Camp (2011-2017) and was a founding faculty member at the International Performing Arts Institute in Germany. Dr. Soder is a Fulbright Scholar Award recipient (2014-15, India) and has received multiple UMKC Kauffman Awards for Excellence in Teaching and Service, as well as the UMKC Trustees Faculty Scholar Award.
