Abigail Pena
About
Abigail Pena is a soprano and Lecturer of Voice at Texas State University School of Music in San Marcos, where she joined the faculty in 2024. She holds both a BM and MM from New York University and brings extensive teaching and performance experience from the New York music and theater scene. Prior to joining Texas State, she served on the voice faculty at Concordia University for 10 years, where she founded the Concordia Young Voices Competition, and taught for two years on the voice faculty at New York University. A New Jersey native, Ms. Pena has performed in both opera and recital in New York City, San Francisco, Austin, Honolulu, New Jersey, Austria, and Italy. Her students have achieved remarkable success, winning prizes in multiple regional and national competitions, performing on Broadway and in film, and going on to study at numerous top-tier programs around the country. Now based in Austin, Ms. Pena continues to maintain both her academic position at Texas State and a thriving private voice studio, bringing her expertise in both classical and contemporary commercial music styles to students of all levels.
