Aaron Harp
About
Dr. Aaron Harp is an accomplished baritone and Assistant Professor of Music at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he serves as the Director of Choral and Vocal Studies. He conducts both the Wofford Singers and Women's Choir while teaching private voice lessons, vocal diction, music theory, and music appreciation courses. Dr. Harp is widely recognized for his stylistically informed early music performance, with critics from the Dallas Morning News praising his appealingly rich baritone and sensitive singing. He specializes in baroque and classical repertoire, including Bach's major works, Handel's Messiah, and Mozart's Requiem. He has performed with prestigious ensembles including Santa Fe Desert Chorale, The Thirteen, Colorado Bach Ensemble, Bach Society Houston, and Dallas Bach Society. His festival appearances include Bachfest Leipzig, Boston Early Music Festival, Berkeley Early Music Festival, and American Bach Soloists Festival. Dr. Harp earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2020 and his Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting from the University of North Texas, where he studied with renowned instructors Jennifer Lane and Stephen Morscheck. He resides in Spartanburg with his wife and four daughters, and is dedicated to fostering musical excellence and appreciation in both his students and the greater community through professional-quality performances.
