Cocky loses his game for love, and Sir takes away his sweetheart. Miserable and depressed, he refuses to play the game, so Sir butters him up by singing his praises and presenting him with a worthless 'crown'. Sir's young crony, the Kid, makes sure that Cocky's ego doesn't get too inflated, however, by beating him right back down again. From the Absurdist musical about hope, oppression and class struggle by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse. Original 1965 Broadway Cast.
