TAB https://www.daddystovepipe.com/tabs-f... A first rate pianist, a singer, an inventive conductor, a composer of excellent jazz themes. Jelly Roll Morton will be all of those. He will as well be from time to time the selfproclaimed inventor of jazz, a nightclub manager, a poolshark and someone with a very abrasive character. His music forms the bridge between ragtime and jazz and is still very exciting to listen to. He recorded Sidewalk Blues with his Red Hot Peppers band in 1926. I learned the guitar arrangement from a French guitarist, Alain Giroux, who recorded it on his lp called 'Giroux' somewhere in the late 70ies. The first part of the arrangement is very unique as it accents the second and fourth beat and thus seems to be against the time. I'm playing my Gréven L-00v, capo first fret, G position. During the first 20 seconds you hear the original 1926 recording on which Jelly Roll really belts it out.
